North Face Nuptse down blanket as an UQ?

I've been doing a lot of reading of the underquilt threads and realized I may have a fourth possible UQ (I have a JRB Nest, Speer Pea Pod, and a Speer synthetic top blanket modified as an UQ). I pulled out an old North Face Nuptse down blanket that I bought on Ebay in the days before my hammocks and wondered if I could modify it to be "Yeti-like". In comparison to my Nest, it's a bit wider and also shorter at 54"x62". It seems that the Yeti is a shorter system, so now I'm wondering if I might modify the Nuptse. Does anyone have the dimensions of the Yeti? I am wondering if the Nuptse might be too wide. It's also heavier than the Nest.

Oh, I might mention that it's going on my new BB that's on order....

    Thanks,

    PH

Oh, well, I will play with it and report back, then. Nothing like trying something new!

Shouldn't be too hard at all. I'd make it something like 44" square, add the extra down that you cut away back into part you're still using, and add corner tabs at all 4 corners and drawcord channels at the ends.

You can always make the dimensions smaller once you've figured out what will work for you...that's why I'd start at 44" square. You may end up with 40" wide by 36" long, or vice versa...but this way you get to play with it.

Thanks, Jeff! Good advice. I also think I will wait until the BB gets here as well so that I can get a feel for it. I've got a closet full of stuff like reflectix that goes all the way back to Sgt Rock days that I may break out while playing around. I seem to remember having moderate success down in the low 40's a few years back with a combination of wally world blue foam and reflectix glued together with a 3M spray on adhesive, sized to fit in my Big Agnes Horsethief.
