Hi guys thought I should bring this post up if you did not see it.
It's by one of our Colorado hangers, mcallaghan, over in Aspen.
If you have ever cussed me out for canceling/or rescheduling a Colorado hang do to a weather forcast
mcallaghan's story will give you an idea of what I am trying to avoid.

Anyway it's a good read and worthy of a pat on the back if you have the time.

Glad that you were able to get out and ride. I was able to ride 24 miles on Saturday myself. Don't know if you have a full veh yet but I would like to join you if possible. I have my Dodge 4 door for one of the directions. Let me know how I can help.

Can't wait to go and ride. Do you want to start in seg 3 or just do 2? Could get a few more miles in starting higher, but you know the area better than me. See you sat at 8 am if the weather works out.

What a surprise when I looked out the window this morning. I've got about 8" and it is still snowing lightly.
Spring time in the Rockies...got to love it :-)
Lets see what Friday brings if it hasn't melted by noon I guess we will have to reschedule.

Here's a fun link to see what's happening in the mtns.

I think I have my bike ready. I could change things up a bit by the time the trip rolls around but I think it would do well as it sits.

Have you been able to weight your kit.

The bag is "water resistant". If I don't come up with a "dry" bag of the right size before the trip, I guess I could line it with a plastic bag.

Right now the panniers are 11 lbs per side with a half gal on water in each. The dry bag with the quilts in it is 3 lbs.

I may try to move more weight up front or into my backpack because I noticed last year on our ride that the front end seemed awefully light with all the weight that was on the rear.
