I was given an old tent. Ideas?

Start a museum. Those things will be collectors' items some day.

Or cannibalize. The poles are probably the easiest to recycle. Use the fabric to mulch around your tomato plants for a season, and then throw it away.

Last year, I ended up giving away a once-decent tent (Stephenson 3R with leaking floor and top - thin fabric had 'seen its day') for somebody to use for the kids in the back yard. Seemed like a good deal all round!

Anytime you can give someone something that makes it easier or more fun for them, then it's a great day.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I have mined the shock cord already and started seam ripping the fabric. May make myself a pack.

There is no way im going back to the ground. I like sleeping more than an hour at a time.

I've got an Egyptian cotton pup tent I got from L.L. Bean in the 1970s. Anyone want it? The floor is PU coated. There is just a little mold on the canvas parts. First offer gets it!

Recycling can get out of hand if you are OCD.

I made the effort to try and make a pack from an old tent....it is not so easy. Send me a personal message as I live near Denton. I could show you where I went wrong so that you might not fail as I did.
