I have heard from a few members that reported leaks from their non-seam sealed WB ridgeline during hard steady rains. MY Cloudburst and Superfly have never leaked on me though, and they are not seam sealed.

where is the best place to get this sealer? I have two tarps coming that I would like to seal... certainly would be nice to have the stuff to do it when it gets here vice learn the hard way.

    Thanks

I used Permatex Flowable Silicone on my tarptent and can recommend it; you get in most shops that sell car stuff.

I got mine at the local auto parts dealer - can't recall if it was Pepboys or Napa or what.
Be sure it is the Silicone version.

I have seam sealed three different tarps using GE 100% silicone caulk. I get it at Lowes in the paint section. Make sure it's 100% silicone (no acrylic) and it says "Mineral Spirits" cleanup (not water cleanup). It comes in those tubes you put into a caulking gun. Then I squeeze a bunch of the product into a can and thin it out some with mineral spirits. It takes a bit of mixing to do this. Then I just brush it on with a cheap disposable brush. Let it dry for a couple days before you put it back onto the stuff sack. Just a thin coating. You can do a bunch of tarps with a single tube so maybe get together with somebody else that needs it done. GET THE CLEAR STUFF!

Some of the other products may even work better, but the stuff I mentioned here works fine too.
