40 miles on the AT with WBBB

Last weekend I hiked a 40 mile section of the AT (32+8 approach, technically) from Amicalola to Springer to Neels Gap. Both nights I found a fantastic spot to hang - blew myself away with how perfect the spots were, both times.

Trip report is here: (spread out over 3 or 4 posts, click "Newer Post"):

Night 1: camped next to a roaring waterfall Long Creek Falls:

Night 2: on top of Big Cedar Mountain:

Very nice shots. That spot by the falls is where I hung a hammock for the very first time 4 years ago on the Benton MacKaye Trail. It instantly brought back a lot of memories.

3rd picture - the hammock looks pretty high up or is that an illusion or am I drinking?

Incredible spots! Thanks for the pics.
I bet it was hard to pack up and leave.

Great pics, what tarp are you using (& size)?
My knife is so sharp it cut the sixth finger off my right hand! On the plus side, Inigo Montoya no longer hunts me.

That's a great section. Looks way different from what I saw in January.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
