    tarp tie out clips

Finished off my tarp tie-out clips. Based a little on Dutch's "Tarp Flyz", I made them from a big-*** brand washer.

They work very well, took a couple hours on a grinder and a dremel to make, and a lot of finish sanding,
but fit my 330 paracord perfectly. I prefer mine on the tree strap end, instead of the tarp end.

That is pretty cool. Takes some dedication to do that much grinding. =)

    Nice work.

We came up with a variety of no pinch designs in this thread.

Actually it was kind of fun, brainstorming how to do it, finding material I had lying around the house, taking the metal and drawing the shape out and working towards a finished product, then polishing and smoothing the rough edges with sandpaper. It cuts out all the time I spent untangling cord and tying prussiks on each end. They are 1/16" steel washers.

Paracord?? I thought I was the only person on here that believed in a zombie apocalypse, the paracord gave you away. I am a firm believer in it and use it for everything. I was shocked when I started researching on this forum and found Amsteel and zing-it to be the rope of choice for most hangers. I had never heard of it but have come to love it. I really like your design there I may have to see if I can reproduce it.

hahahaha. Ive never seen zing it, and although I use am steel whoopies, I don't use it for anything else. 330 paracord is cheap, durable, and easy to replace. I use it for bear bag rope, too. I did scale back from 550 cord, it was bigger and bulkier, and I really didn't see the need for that level of strength. Maybe one day I'll go all hi tech, but for now, I can find 330 cord at hobby lobby in a variety of colors. And yes, I chose the pink, it stands out well in the forest, especially in low light. I also have some in green with a reflective strip that I use for tie outs, because I really like to trip over my lines.

Way to go Theosus, nice clips. No need to buy anything you can make yourself. I think the reason a lot of forum members like Amsteel and Zing-it is because it is light ( backpacking) and spliceable. http://www.paracordgalaxy.com/ has a better selection of paracord and better prices than HL. But, it is convenient to be able to grab some at HL.
