I'm head right, feet left and can't sleep the other way.

I was in exactly the same dilema this weekend as I was ordering my dream hammock. I'm a leftie but had standard hammocks so far. Also I sleep on both sides turning over few times and have no problem falling asleep on either side.
So after two hours of trying different lays and thinking and reasoning I came to the conclusion that it makes no difference for me sleep wise. BUT.. Something helped me make a decision. Ergonomics, if you can't decide on which side you prefer to sleep, think about which hand you will use to light a stove and make a "breakfast from the hammock". Which hand you prefer to have more freedom to read a book or fiddle with your phone.

So even though I'm left handed I have chosen a right hand hammock (feet to the right) because this will give more freedom to my left shoulder/arm.
Also it was easier for me to simulate reaching over my head to zip up the bugnet.

I actually have one hammock out of my four that has a lefty "feels better" lay. I have always thought of posting a similar question about it. I Sleep righty in three of my hammocks but lefty in the fourth.

I can't tell you why but I can't sleep with my feet to the right. That is why I bought a mirror version of the XLC Blackbird.

The hammock I am getting ready to order comes standard right lay. Just got me to thinking about me being a left layer, why they came standard right lay, and if I had a left lay made how that would affect the target market for resale later down the road.

Thanks for this! I'm hoping to order a Thunderbird soon and this made me think about things more. Kind of like having a mini fridge next to your bed, but it opens towards you instead of away.

I am a head right, feet left kind of person. Don't know why, but it works for me.
