I lay with my head to the left. I think it had something to do with the zipper being on the right and I wanted more fabric on the zipper side to make it easier to access.

I flip-flop both directions and on both diagonals, sometimes facing out, sometimes in. Always on my side. I'm restless in bed, too.

After a few nights in my new Thunderbird, I'm really glad I went with a left lay. Using my right arm to access my stuff which I always put on the right side is easy. Another thing I noticed is I often like my left leg in a figure 4, and the wall of fabric on that side is a nice rest for my leg.
I'm hammock-lay ambidexterous. seriously. i just do what ever feels best.
I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it.
I left lay with the head raised somewhat more than most. I have severe acid reflux and Barretts Esophogus so it helps to lay that way to prevent/alleviate some of those symptoms. Its one of the major reasons I switched to hanging.
Seems like most that replied are left lay. Wonder why right lay is the standard way vendors make them?
