fascinating idea/concept, oversized tripod hammock stand

this guy is using a net hammock though, but the idea is there, essentially it is a bipod and a ridge pole, and puts the hammock at an angle.... I'm not sure how comfy it would be sleeping 2-3 inches away from a pole....

hahaha that was a concern as well, but in the video, it supports him pretty good... personally though I would go for a longer ridge pole and lash the "foot end" on a forked tree or a tree with a large branch coming off of it.... kind of like how I've seen some hammocks hanging from large oak branches like below with a treeboat spreader bar hammock;
