Sorry for your loss Floridahanger. Grandmothers hold a special place in our hearts, mostly because they spoiled us but also because they related a past that only 2 generations removed seemed so primitive. One of my most memorable was actually my wifes grandmothers revelation that in her youth they would hook up the team to the wagon and go into Lakeland for supplies and it would take all day. Now we drive it in 15 minutes. At the time she was telling the story we finished with the statement " and now we have put men on the moon". My grandmother had the uncanny ability to not only recall births, weddings and deaths but also the day of the week. But knowing my grandmother she could have just been BSing us. That was her nature and none of us dared question her memory.

I'll be pulling up about 3:30. I am planning on hiking in on Paula Dockery trail all along the creek to get 3 miles on my feet on Friday.
Thanks for the warning LifeScout; I will pack plenty of picartin towelettes and a head net.
All the weather services are agreeing on high's in the upper 80's with about 70% humidity and lows in the mid 60's with little chance of rain.

well, I'm in for sure. Arrive in the afternoon. I think I will walk down the creek and then across to Lakefront. I need miles with weight.

Florida Hanger, please accept my condolences for your loss.

I saw Flrider's "fronkey bug net" and gotta have one. The netting I found abandoned at Hidden Pond is big enough. I will be trying it out with you guys. Another Grinder cheapo!!!

Thank you, gentlemen for your thoughts.

If I go, it would be on Sat. so I would probably meet up with you all at the hunting cabin or Lake Godwin.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

It has been a much wetter, and therefore skeeterier, spring than normal. We are also getting into fly season (I haven't seen the yellow flies yet though). Bug spray will definitely be a good idea.

We are beginning a restoration project tomorrow and if we are still working on it on Friday then I will be in that evening. Otherwise I will head out there fairly early and get some hammock reading... I mean napping done

I'll be working Friday but should be down between 3-4pm. I'll probably walk in along the Creekside trail as well.
