    Considering Another Claytor (maybe Expedition)

Hey Gang, after slacking for a couple years on Whiteblaze, I decided to move up to the big leagues. :-)

I have a bit of a history and a love/hate relationship with my JH:
    - I bought one in 2007 for my thru-hike and enjoyed it until it split in half about 10 days into the trip. Tom agreed to refund it but only after we paid to ship it back and pay for expedited shipping for the new one. (Basically buying another hammock). So I was on the trail for a week without a shelter and got really, really lucky with the weather and AT shelters.
    - The replacement was great and I never had a problem. Eventually, I gave it to a friend in Australia in return for a favor.

Now I'm considering getting another and looking at the expedition because it's lighter. The problem is that I'm 6'3'' and around 220. Any of you bigger guys tried the expedition?

Also, I'm planning another thru attempt in April and I'm still a little gun shy and the thought of having to pay another $100 or so for shipping if anything happened to the hammock may be a deal killer for me. Anyone have a different experience w/ product support and shipping costs?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I am 5'11" 200lb and I feel that it is too small.

I agree with the prior posts; too small. I'm 6' and in the 220s. The Expedition is not a comfortable hammock for me. Look at the Jungle model if your a Claytor fan, or just join the current 'in-crowd' and get a Blackbird.

Whatever you decide, welcome to the forum!
