I just found this thread, can't believe i missed it. Just what i needed to get rid of the toggles from my setup. I would like a permanent version on my tarps, and the loop/stopper knot (nacrabiner) version for my huggers. Can i just make a spliced closed loop for the tarp tieout? I want it to be tiny, light. Can you make tiny continuous loops by splicing?

Yes, Ike, those can be found in the "continous loop" thread. There is a few different links for tutorials, as well.

Wow! You folks gotta give us relative newcomers a break here! By the time I sorted out which is the head end and which is the foot of my hammock, I started reading all these threads about suspensions. Each one sounds more fantastic than the last! I can't get one completely implemented before it becomes passe and I'm feeling like I have an antique setup.

You have to let me get at least one hang in on a new suspension before I have to relegate it to holding the screen door open! I figure that I'll just stop trying to keep up and wait, because I figure, in about 6 more posts, one of you will show how to levitate your hammock with no suspension what-so-ever!!

Yes but the anti-gravity device can be used on the anti-gravity device itself so that it just floats down the trail.

Now If we could just get it into something smaller than a semi-trailer.

To make search easier I'm going to add nacrabiner to the title of this thread. I'm also going move it into suspension forum and sticky it.

I noticed most of you guys are making these out of amsteel, Is it of concern for the functionality of the system to use varying diameter lines. I want to make one out of dynaglide to connect my whoppie slings to my tree huggers as seen here, wondering if dynaglide would be ok. I ask because of abrasion where the whoppie makes contact with the nacra. They are gonna both be dynaglide.

thanks for doing that sparrow, helps searching.

This morning, I made a loop shackle with a piece of cored, braided, nylon small stuff that was laying around here. Since it is cored, I just used an overhand knot instead of a marlin splice tuck.
