    Ridge line quilt hooks rubbing against the bug net??

    Well I finally received my WBBB 1.1DL (custom made lefty) and I already have an incubator uq. When I came to put the two together along with my Dutch ridge line quilt hooks, I noticed that the hooks rubbed pretty hard against the bug net. I decided not to use them until I get some feedback from folks who know. I'm afraid that my constant moving in the hammock will eventually cause these hooks to tear my bug net. Can anyone tell me if they've had any expirence with this happening???

    Are you hooking the quilt hooks on the outside of the bugnet?
    With the zippered bugnet, it seems you would have to do that. I believe the quilt hooks that you sew onto the hammock may be more appropriate. I don't have any, so take this with a pound of salt!

    Yeah, I can't picture this, either.

    That said, a small patch of ripstop sewn to the netting at the point of contact is an easy fix.

    I don't think I'd clip onto the ridgeline from outside the bug net. This will inevitably cause it to rip at some point. If you're looking to clip some shock cord over the RL mid-way on the quilt, I'd go for a length of cord long enough to go from one edge of the quilt, over the RL and then clip it onto the opposite edge of the quilt. That will help snug the quilt up if you find it sagging a bit.

    I'm trying to use the ridge line quilt hooks as Dutch shows in the video. Here is the link to his video I am talking about http://youtu.be/0MG4wUGBh0I Maybe this will help with trying to picture what I am trying to accomplish. The hammock is a BB so it does have a zippered bug net and i have to go over the net. Sewing a piece of rip stop nylon is a great idea. That's probably what I'll end up having to do. Any other sugestions or experiences will be greatly appreciated!

    Ahh, now I understand. Neat clips by Dutch. I use the fabric triangles to achieve the same quilt hanging/ attachment angle and it works ok but my quilt is only 3/4 length. I would think a full length incubator would be too long and the suspension should just attached to the cinched end/whoopie sling. I have an incubator on order and was thinking I'd have to ditch the triangles. Let me know if the clips work out for you.

    If you are not extremely weight conscious, you can consider the use of a piece of webbing instead of the hook (sorry Dutch, anyway I am Dutch too).
    Have a look at;

    My experience is that in stays well on top of the ridge line and does not affect your bug net.

    Just FYI, I use my DIY triangle thingies on my WBBB and winter Incubator. I also use the main uq suspension to bear most of the weight, but the TTs help to keep the quilt from slipping off my shoulder/footbox.

    Thanks for this bit of info str1der. I'm actually putting an order together for arrowhead gear and TT's are the main items. That is exactly what I had n mind to try. Good to hear that it works.
