I also like the simplicity of using a simple loop (easy to make in the field) but I prefer a clove hitch (made on the bight).

Or if one already has loops which don't provide a satisfactory stopper, the two bights can be toggled (like ABoK #1921).

Here is how you could use a Shock Cord Nacrabiner without an eye to join the two sides of an UQ suspension over the ridgeline.

Why did you change the name?
I looks like Running Feather uses a locked Brummel splice with maybe a little extra space between the first pass through the center and the bury which might allow the loop to open up a little. Ultimately he ends with a single line going through the loop and then tied in a knot. This is an interesting variation but not quite the same as the nacarbiner.

oooo good idea i was trying to ditch those heavy jrb elastic/biner suspensions i use for my jrb quilts. Are you replacing them as well?

The shorties are 24", the longer ones 36". All six together weigh 12 grams (Dynaglide).

I called them Klemheists because that is their intended use (the long ones). The shorties will be used as Nacrabiners and were experiments.

I spliced the shackle 6" from the end and buried the tail. The end is a back splice using a figure eight knot. I'd use a diamond knot if it were being used for weight bearing.

I made a few traditional Nacrabiners but wasn't happy with twin tails. The back splice makes a nice stopper knot as it is thicker.
