    two hammocks with spreader bars

I am looking at using my hiking poles as spreader bars between two hammocks. I am not a do it yourselfer, never have been, and don't want to be....so, who can I get to make me the 4 fixed eyes to use to secure the poles? I have not seen any of the cottage makers I use who offer such an item, thanks for your help. If you are handy that way, let me know how much you would charge. Lance

A sketch of what you have in mind would be helpful.

I worked with Dutch a while back and developed such a piece. Three holes... One to connect to hammock, one to connect to suspension, and the third to receive the pole. Not sure of his plans to sell these ever, but maybe.

If it helps you, you can just wrap the suspension around the poles a few times. Or you can use a branch or long stick or sapling, etc so you can use the poles for other things, like porch mode for the tarp, etc.

There are quite a few pics around here showing the double hang. Maybe someone will throw a few in here.

Dutch has it available on his site. Nice little piece of Dutchware you both came up with.

It just may work for this application and many others as well.

I was thinking a double fixed eye (two loops), one you wrap around the suspention, the other around the pole...and repeat three times. That is the way I have seen it a few times, I may just play around with it a bit. Here is what I am thinking:

That would be fine. It's a tried and true method. All you need are 4 continuous loops or dogbones "double fixed eye (two loops)".

I believe Dutch and a few others will have either for sale. Also, in your area, there should be a few DIYers that can whip up a few at a local group hang.

Good luck and show us pics when you try it out.

That's not the part I'm talking about. We specifically worked on a piece just for this application (two gathered/channel hammocks off two trees with spreader bars). Weighs NOTHING at all and is makes a great drip ring in the suspension.

    Ooooooooooo!

    Something else Dutch......

The Bridge hardware was genius. The piece your talking about would be even more so in the same catagory. Expecially since it could be for existing hammocks and not newly built ones.

Thanks, Kia Kaha, for this thread. Great ideas.
