XLC in single layer 1.1 idea?

Not sure if its even possible(just sent an email to Brandon), but do you guys think it would be a good idea to have a XLC as a single layer 1.1 construction like the original Blackbird? I'm 6'2" 155. I see it's about 4 oz lighter on the Blackbird so I figure it would be at least that or even 5oz lighter on the XLC. Good idea, bad idea, impossible idea?

It's a great idea. I don't know why they don't offer it. I'm actually taking my 1.1 sl blackbird this weekend instead of my 1.1 dl xlc just because it's like 3/4 of a pound lighter on my scale. Xlc is far more comfortable for me being 6'1"

Brandon got back to me really quick (thanks Brandon) and said, "We can, the single 1.1 will stretch some at your weight though, you'd get more support and a flatter lay out of the single 1.7". I weigh 155lbs. I don't own an underquilt yet so I suppose another question would be single 1.1 or double to hold pads in place or get a single traveler and bug net (18oz) for warm summer and maybe buggy trips and a double 1.1 XLC for cool to hold a pad. But then I don't need the screen of the XLC for bugs when I would be using it (the cooler months) so do I really want an XLC over the traveler with net combo? My brain is starting to hurt. I may have to start a new thread.

At 6'2" I think you'd like the XLC more than the BB or Traveler.
For me, trying the pads was a short lived adventure. If you think you going to eventually go the UQ route, then a SL 1.7 should be fine.
Or if you are really into watching the grams, then a SL 1.1 may work.

Thats my thought, if I get a double 1.1 instead of a single 1.7 and end up using a underquilt later then... Brain hurting.

I have the single layer 1.7 and dig it! I can't speak to the traveler but I am hooked on the shelf that comes on the xlc-. I have an under quilt but have used a pad in the backyard and love the lay I get with the pad. I may even try the pad on a backpacking trip I like it so much.

I am 6'4" and 150. I had a single layer 1.1 hammock and found that is did not lay as flat as heavier material. Also, their seemed to be more tension in the fabric and it seemed less comfortable in general. The weight is a nice bonus, but you might want to find some way to try one out before you buy just to make sure it will be comfortable for you.

Thanks! I'm going to go for the double layer 1.1 I believe. 6'4" and 150? And I thought I was a skinny twig.
