Hey there!
Just wanted to get a fix on when the next group hang for Texas folks might be. I want to make sure I have everything in order and can make it.
Cheers!

The annual TX Hang is the beginning of November.
Ditto. I'm new as well and hoping to get to a group. Here's hoping there's some folks going somewhere around DFW before November!
There's a group of us that try to go to the LSHT in the Sam Houston National Forest ever so often, right now I'm trying to convince my son that would be way more fun on Easter weekend than staying at the house.
Several of us from around the DFW area get together quite often. We usually hit LBJ Grasslands or Texoma.
Not sure of official TX hangs but i'm out often. April 11-13 still trying to decide between "Lofers Bend" Army Corps park at Lake Whitney or National Forest Park on Mulberry river in NW Arkansas. Then Easter weekend with family in San Antonio. Then next weekend after Easter teaching kids to kayak at lake Whitney, hopefully lots of extra time to hang and camp, jump from cliffs, surf on standing waves below dam etc. So you get the general idea: bring hammock gear, mtn bike, borrow a kayak from me or whomever, lots of food, have fun.
We'll I'll definitely keep an eye on this forum and try to make it to a get together large or small.
I live in Bridgeport about 45 mins from Fort Worth. I'd be up for a little hammock time.
Mobile_cabin and Tiny plz be specific if it matters what type of camping you prefer. I.e a state or private park that you can hang hammock close to vehicle or hike in several miles, canoe/kayak/raft or sail on Lake or river. Horseback or "ATV" 4 wheel, RV or camper, there is a very long list of methods the most simple and accessible is usually the best I.e. car camp or hike in. Several places near "lake Texoma" also near Possum Kingdom Lake a very long list. Much shorter list is available weekend. We are probably all very busy.
BTW There are always a few wise people who mostly sleep in hammocks and camp with DFW based groups such as North Texas Outdoors (outings posted most weekends) and Dallas Down River Club (Mulberry river on G-Friday Easter, South Llano State Park 1st weekend in May) these and many other groups across the country listed on meet up.com
Only minor problem may be that some places may not be great for hammocks but I have learned to be creative and also own a few tents, but my back always complains when I must go to ground. ;-)

I car camp and hike in as well. The only boat I have is a bass boat. Thanks for posting other websites, I'll check those out.
