Smile Long time lurker, first time poster...

I've bookmarked about 100 threads from these forums (mostly DIY) and decided this summer is the time to finally jump in. There's not much to do in the Phoenix area when it's 100+ outside, so I bought a TON of fabric and other supplies to keep me busy. Everyone on my Xmas list is getting hammocks this holiday season, whether they like it or not--but many have been stealing my past comfy hammock purchases, so I'm also hoping to put an end to that .

I'm a long-time ground-dweller, but I've recently developed back pains after sleeping in tents (and it gets HOT inside). I took a cheap netted hammock on my last trip to just relax in, and found that to be much more comfortable to sleep in, as well. So, hoping the next trip (with a decent hammock) will mean an end to inconvenient tents.

Being an engineer by training, and an analyst by profession, you all can expect quite a few experimental build results from me

Any of the stomach-sleepers on here have advice for what works best? I was thinking a bridge might be most comfortable, but I'm worried about that significantly limiting potential arm positions. Maybe a gathered-end with a "^" gather instead of the typical "W," to give more slack around the edges?

straight gather but extra long hammock to offset the weird leg upbend that happens occasionally, add 2 to 3 feet to hammock and hang spacing.
