Awesome video. I need to make myself a new tarp which is a bit longer and has built in doors. I used the same string technique to calculate my cat cuts. But I think I made mine way too deep on my first tarp. 3" over 7.5' seems a lot more sane.

    Well done buddy.

    Great timing!

One question: the top ridge is 11 feet, the bottom length is 7.5 feet. That gives us 3.5 feet difference to divide between the two "triangles" on either end (so.. 1'9" each). The diagram shows coming in 2' on the outside. Doesn't that leave the other "triangle" to be a bit smaller? Am I missing something?

I'm very excited about your video series. My first DIY was from your bug net vid, and I bet my first tarp will be a fronkey as well... Now I just need to know how to make those doors or beaks. Thank you again, and nice production value and intro

you didn't show how you traced the lines from the string. Any tips?

D.I.Y. With Fronkey - How to make a Hammock Tarp

When my brother did his first tarp we used a string. We didn't trace as much as make dots with a sharpie every centimeter or so. Worked out pretty good. I should probably add that we hung the tarp when we did it.

I loved the vid. You make it look so easy that I almost regret ordering an Edge tarp. Well, almost guess I'll have an excuse to make myself a wintertarp at some point

    Thanks fronkey.

Yeah man, I gonna go make myself a tarp right now! - is what I'd like to do after watching your video. You make it really look easy. I bought sil for a DIY-tarp over a year ago, something always interfered. With this awesomeness (aka video) the motivation is back on. Now I only need the time ;-)
