Need a Hammock or Cot for an APARTMENT BED

I will soon be moving into a small apartment, coupled with the fact that my finances are destitute. Therefore, a Western Culture Conventional Bed is not an option.

What would be the differences between a Hammock and a Cot for this purpose?

Please recommend something offering the best value. I weigh 160 pounds.

Have there been unhappy stories deriving from hammockforums "For Sale" subforum?

I'm 160lbs, and 5'8". I use this http://amzn.com/B001ECQ6LU in my bedroom. Its big enough for me to roll around in it. It's my full-time bed, so I highly recommend it. Cotton is the way to go IMO

I have one of these (http://www.seasidehammocks.com/COTTO...MMOCK-p31.html) Nice to sleep in, just make sure you have a 30 degree hang angle for best lay.

I can make you a tablecloth hammock if you like. It's what I sleep in every night with no issues. I have assorted colours on hand right now, black, red, burgundy, maybe green.

I was going to suggest the same thing. A polyester crinkle taffeta table cloth from tableclothsfactory.com is a quick and easy hammock to make. That is if you don't mind doing a little work yourself as far as gathering the ends and adding a hammock suspension. Your other issue is you will have to figure a way to attach the hammock to the walls of your new apartment.

I still need a STAND recommendation.

and I don't mean to be a pest, but I'm confused with BRAZILIAN vs MAYAN vs NICARAGUAN vs BOLIVIAN vs MEXICAN ... and between COTTON vs COTTON/POLYESTER vs NYLON vs TAFFETA.

and the price range is not to be trifled with: $15 - $105 for what appears to me to have the same functionality ... do I get what I pay for?

Like already posted, inside attachment points will be require a certain amount of care, as will stand fabrication. Ask DJ about that too. That will be of great help too. Can't get any of that from an Amazon order.
