Poll: Where do you attach your ridgeline?

What are the benefits of each attachment point?

I imagine there could be some benefit to having your suspension higher up.

Oh, and if you say "other" could you please explain if possible?

I do mine around the whipping. Seems the easier and most logical to me. My sag keeps it at the right height for my style.

Around the whipping. I was just researching this exact same thing a few days ago.

I don't whip; I use end-channels. And sometimes I move ridgelines from one hammock to another so I want the easiest way to remove them. Therefore they're larksheaded onto the continuous loop with a Dutch ridgeline biner on the other end.

I don't seem to have any pictures of it, but I have continuous loops larks headed to the ends of my hammock. These go up to rings that the whoopies and ridge line are also attach to. I'm thinking of changing things up though. The nice thing is that this setup keeps the bug net up high, but this also makes it hard to pitch the tarp low.

I'd really like to see a diagram or video how Brandon whips his ends with a structural ridge line and the cinch buckles. There are lots of howtos for whipping and whoopie slings, but I haven't seen anything on cinch buckles.

Excuse my poor drawing skills, but I think this is how he does it. The whipping goes on before he pulls the green line tight (and it goes around the blue ridgeline).

I connect mine where my whoopie slings go through my gathered end channel. I put it in the same larks head with it.

Fixed length SRL looped around the whipping above the soft shackle/ring. Seems to be most logical on my whipped end (table cloth) hammocks. I have a Gr. Trunk UL that has a larks head continuous loop/ring attachment. On it I haven't run a SRL before. Would likely attach SRL to the loop/ring as close to hammock as possible.
