Need help with some of the finer points of finishing a tarp.

My wife and I have made a couple tarps in the past but this time we're going to use different construction techniques. The pattern will be the Sunkmail modification of the DIY Gear Supply tarp. The plan is to do a rolled edge seam, grosgrain ridgeline, a V of grosgrain for the tie out reinforcements, and an X of grosgrain for the side pull out backing. So, I have questions on each of these points.

    1) What do you do with your rolled edge when to get up to the ridgeline? Do you take the seam out to the edge of the fabric and then sew the two halves together, or do you sew the halves together and only take the rolled edge to there?

    2) On the ridgeline, do you just lay the to halves together and run a seam or do you role that one as well before putting the grosgrain on?

    3) On the corner tie outs, would it be better to have both pieces of the grosgrain on the edges or have one going where the edge would be if there wasn't a door?

    4) Has anyone ever tried using an X of grosgrain as the reinforcement for side pull outs? I don't recall seeing it. Any reason that I'm not thinking of that it wouldn't work well?

Warbonnet uses a V of grosgrain for side pullout reinforcement.

I would hem both sides of the tarp separately before doing the ridgeline with this method. as far as the ridgeline goes, I would do a simple seam, .25in seam allowance, then bind with grossgrain. Your hemmed edges will then go under the ridgeline binding and look finished.
