I was able to get a good idea of what my 3s Yeti can do. I had 34-35 degrees, a 10(?) mph gusting wind, and I never felt chilled. I was using my OES Dlx, #3 (32degree) Montbell SS, a fleece pullover and sit pad under my legs.

The wind shifted a little and blew through my tarp like a tunnel. Other than my bad setup,everything went well. The Yeti held perfectly on the hammock ends without any biners or extras.

The Yeti slipped sideways when I went on a bathroom break, but that was an easy fix.

I am working on an add-on, using insultex, to boost the low end temps, but I think 30 is a conservative estimate for this guy. This setup has allowedme to cut 20 oz from my pack.

Even after all this time, it's still hard to believe just how warm those little diapers keep you. Good results Big D!

I'm having a little trouble w/ using my yeti. If i use a sit lite pad for my feet then my knees are cold. If i use it for my knees then my feet are cold.

Also the cord is a little annoying, b/c i find my head usually has to pick to ether lay below or on top of it.

Perhaps i'm just spoiled from using a snug fit before. I feel the yeti is a bit less forgiving then the snug fit, in that if i lay in certain positions it doesn't compensate as well as the snugfit and is more likely to make a cold spot.

I've only used the yeti about 5 times, so i need to test it some more.
Can't complain about the yeti's weight savings though or for using it in warmer weather.

So, then, you need a slightly longer pad? Long enough to go from your thigh/butt junction to your feet, more or less? But a thin pad will do for most temps.

Or, you need to supplement the pad with another layer. I used my fleece pullover to give myself more coverage. I have used my pack, raingear and anything else I have that's not being used.

Piotr01 brings up a good point in using the Yeti.
I find the shockcord goes right where I place my head. I end up trying to almost balance on top of the cord.

Thoughts out there?

You could try hooking the shockcord on hammock line with a small "s" biner to stretch it out more and it may lower. Worth a shot.
