    Whipped

Question for the collective, I've made a tablecloth hammock with whipped ends but I'm not real happy with how the whipping came out. I used 550 cord and I had a real hard time getting the loop to pull th tail back under. I was thinking of redoing the whip with some "lash it" I got from Dutch. Any thoughts?

Try doing the Warbonnet whipping technique shown here:

My #1 choice for whipping is a dynaglide dogbone, #2 is a 7/64 amsteel dogbone. I loop one end of the dogbone cinching it tight for the 1st wrap, pinch the wrap and repeat running each pass thru the eye until I have the # of wraps needed, use the other end to connect the suspension. Works great.

I used paracord on a tablecloth hammock and also had trouble, I found it worked much better when I "gutted" the paracord and just used the sheath. But zing/lash it or even braided mason line will probably work fine (but I have not tried those on a tablecloth).

I've always used "Whipping Method #2" and not had any problems with paracord. It should take a very firm pull to bury the tail. I also leave the ends long so they can be pulled back out.

It's a length of cordage with fixed eyes in each end. Link to more info below.
