    question for all you DIYers

    clark 1.jpgclark 2.jpg

So I came across a great deal today on craigslist. I picked up a Clark North American for $75. It didn't come with the fly (no problem I have a few), and everything else about it looked great EXCEPT the channels. If you look at the pics you can see a lot of stress and separation where the channel is sewn. Obviously its seems to have been under a lot of stress. I saw this and bought it anyway figuring there must be a relatively easy fix here. I am relatively new to DIY and have never sewn anything load baring. How should I fix this? What would you guys/gals do with this?
    Thanks!
    Mike

Easiest fix is to whip it where the stresses are, then get a continuous loop of amsteel and larks head it in. problem solved.

What Fish said. You might lose a little length, but it should get it hanging.

I never liked relying on stitching for the weight of the hang.
A continuous loop with two wrap larks headed right behind the gather will make it good.
