Greetings happy hangers:
I am new to the forum. Just in case someone didn't realize
In the cyber world I go by the name Grounded7: This name came about based on my (Grounded) Faith in Jesus Christ.
By others I am known as Old man, and Wild man. (Long Story)
My children call me Daddy, Dad, Papa, and Grampa.
My Ex.....well that depend on the mood she is in
coworkers and the few friends call me Greg.
Others....Hey
I have been a lover of hammocks since I was very little, but have done very little hammock camping.
Tent camping has just been the norm with having kids I guess.
I am a seasoned camper, hiker, biker, fisherman, hunter, all around outdoors-man.
Currently I own two lounging hammocks made by ENO. One single and one double. considering converting one into a jungle chair.
My camping hammock is a Hennessy Survivor with the original rain fly, hex fly, undercover, overcover, and there version of an under quilt.
I am very new to the under quilts and over quilts. Looking for just the right sleeping bag to convert the undercover and sleeping bag into a custom fit under quilt for my setup.
I don't think I will give up my military issue modular sleep system quite yet; it has never failed even at -35 F. in the mountains of Montana.
This system is rated at -40 F. with proper bed clothing.
I am gearing up for an 8 day retreat to the Superior National Forest the first week in July. I have never set foot in this part of Minnesota before. It should be very exciting.
Not sure of the exact area I want to spend this retreat in yet. I would like to do a little fishing while I am out there.
I love waterfalls and natural overlooks, any place with amazing views. Not real big on the swamp country; spent to many years trudging around hunting them I guess.
Any suggestions on a great area for an 8 day retreat would be very welcome.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your forum.
