I've tried them all, and will always use a zippered, integrated bug net. Just prefer it...YMMV

Whats the fascination with zippered bug nets?

===> Here in the Boreal Forests in New England we get large, vicious, swarms of several flying bad things. I seem to attract 'em all! These pics were bites through the back of a camp chair in a short period of time. I like my integrated netting and double-layered hammocks!

Ha Chazzzs , My ridgerunner came today. It just fits on my stand. Stuck a pad between layers for now. 5 minutes later ordered a full length Lynx. Oh by the the roadrunner comes with a bug net.😉

I use my hammock tent in australia and borneo. I also put on mosquito repellant. Integrated bug screen essential. In borneo as it is a malarial country it is essential.

I'm currently using a Fronkey Style and I see a couple of pros and cons from an integrated one:
+: once uq is attached it is easier to adjust from inside the hammock without exposing yourself to bugs (by opening the zippers), offers another layer of protection for underneath, can be removed, easy DIY project
-heavier, bulkier, can be a pain to attach uq with it on or put the net on with the uq already attached..

I use a down sleeping bag as a pea-pod so an integrated bug net wouldn't work. Therefore I use a zippered bug net that completely encloses my hammock. It is also nice knowing that I will be keeping out spiders and other creepy crawlers besides the buzzing bugs.

Here in Texas, we have skeeters that'll carry your beer off if you're not careful. I like the 360 degree protection a zippered net provides.
