    Hello from Florida

Hello all, I stumbled across this site and must say I am rather impressed with the hanging systems in use. I could see myself sleeping in the trees in the near future.
    My hobbies include
    Hunting
    Fishing
    Knife making
    Anything that shoots Black Powder
And soon to be Hammock camping
I spend a lot of time outdoors and this type of camping would lighten the load for sure.
Hope I dont annoy too bad with the newby questions.
    Thanks...James

Welcome aboard from Lakeland. Most of us finished up with our Florida season last weekend. There are a few diehards that will brave the heat and humidity of the summer. Keep an eye open for trip planning beginning in Oct/Nov. Also make sure that you mark your calendar for MLK Jr. weekend For the 5th Annual Florida Hang at Doe Lake in Ocala NF. This is one you don't want to miss. We had well over 100 attendees from all over the eastern US. Look forward to you checking our local central Florida group out on one of the fall hangs. Great bunch of people and I believe you would enjoy yourself.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

    Welcome from Philly.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

Welcome from South Florida. olddog summed it up pretty well above. We have a bunch of wonderful hangers spread across Florida and have developed close friendships.
