Seller's remorse? Ever miss your gear?

I think I'm going to have to sell my WBBB so I can afford UQ material. Has anybody ever had seller's remorse?

Nope but I am usually replacing it with something better.

I've never sold any gear - I'm a gear hoarder.

I got my first hammock at Christmas. I have already purchased (and sold) several items as I explore what I want. the nice thing about this stuff (unlike more "traditional" backpacking or camping gear) is that you can reclaim a very high % of your purchase cost if you stick with the "known" brands or vendors. (I.E. the ones that are constantly discussed and referenced here on HF). So at some time in the future if you want to go back to your old hammock and repurchase one, you haven't taken that large of a loss (percentage wise).

I 100% suffer from sellers remorse, especially as you often sell stuff well below the price you paid (and as I look after my kit extremely well, this is always below value). My worst bit so far was selling a uq that I didn't need ... until I sold it!!

Luckily my Claytor Diamond Fly (CDF) didn't sell when I sold my Gear Guide 12'X12" tarp in order to help fund my WB Superfly (SF) purchase. As much as I like the SF It requires at least 4 stakes and can take up to 12 stakes to fully deploy. I like the ease of a diamond fly, because they only take 2 stakes or tie out points. I always take my CDF when weather permits.

What do you need 12 stakes for? At the most I've only ever used 6. 4 corners, 2 for tie outs. I guess I could stake the doors out but have never bothered, I just tie them to the opposite corners with some lash-it and piece of shock cord.

6 is still a lot compared to two. That's the same reason why I sold my superfly - I realized that there was no way that I'm going to bother setting up that tarp.

Fair enough, where I live it's pretty necessary. The rain is a constant companion.

And back to the original thread, totally get remorse...every...single...time.

Nope. By the time I sell gear, either I've replaced it with something else, or I have had it sitting long enough without it being used that I know I won't miss it.

I do, however, get attached to some gear, even though I don't use it much. I occasionally think about selling some of it, but just can't bring myself to let it go. As long as I keep it around, I'll never have to feel bad about selling.
