Hey all....yesterday I finally got a chance to suspend the diy UQ. I finished it this past Friday. Gonna start by thanking you guys here for all the great info on hammock camping. And thanks Shug for the vids. I played them in my head when I was setting up the UQ.... I even saw Karl, got a little creeped but just ffwd the head vid and all was well. Everything just worked. When I layed in the hammock, I made the needed adjustments and right away I could feel the warmth. I reached around and brought the UQ up to my right shoulder and reached down and brought the bungy up and over my feet...man it was nice....then I had to try the DIY TQ....man I felt warm....ok, it was 70 degs out but I do believe it's gonna work. I am happy. Next projects will be the bugnet and a couple of stuff sacks for the tq and uq....

Nice looking setup. There is something extra special about making your own gear and having it actually work like you thought it would!

Looks great! I echo Aboyd, above - there certainly is something special about MYOG and having it come out "right."

Thanks guys... diy is fun, that's for sure. Now I gotta do an over night test to see how it all works!
