Looking for a decent tarp to start out with

I have been using a Eureka 6 person tent rain fly as a tarp and it wasnt ideal for tying down. I am thinking about getting a new tarp and would love some opinions.

Do you have a budget in mind? Are you looking for a tarp with doors or not? Is weight and bulk a concern for your tarp?

Providing some additional details on some of the factors you consider important for your tarp will help people make good recommendations for you.

    Cheers

    Brian

Bulk is not a huge deal, doors are not vital, and price is probably the dominating factor trying to keep the costs down. I would like to be able to hang my hammock low to the ground, and pitch the tarp so that it comes down to the ground

The Kelty Noah's 12 is a good tarp for the money. Lots of coverage for the price.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

I was going to buy a Kelty before going with a Wilderness Logic Big Daddy tarp. I've been through 2 crazy windy and drenching down pour storms and it's held up amazingly. My wife and son also have a WL tarp, but the next size down from mine.
