Hi all,
New to hammocking. Have owned a couple light duty hammocks for a couple years, but never found a spot to hang them. Finally dawned on me to use the two posts stuck in the yard by a previous owner attempting to do something that the city wouldn't issue a building permit for. Installed a couple 2x4's on top to make sure they didn't fall in on me. So now I can say, I've laid in two of the three hammocks I own.
Love to camp, bicycle, hike, canoe and kayak, ski (although my old knees are giving me what for so don't know how long I'll be able to hit the slopes), do fiber arts, listen to music. Owned my own business for 10 years. Now I work two part-time jobs for paychecks.
Got interested in camping with a hammock after reading and researching for going into the Boundary Waters last summer with my 3 sons and daughter-in-law. Am looking forward to trying out my camping hammock this summer.
BTW, I also own a little 1984 13' Scamp, and have a partially built teardrop trailer. Might have to start flipping a coin to see which way I go camping each time.
Just finished making snakeskins for my tarp and a continuous ridgeline for my tarp with grey Lash-it and some Dutchware hardware. Used info from Derek Hansen's book and website and YouTube videos, especially one by PaCampingDad. Fun project.
