Thumbs up First Overnight Hammock Excursion.

So my Father-in-Law and I finally got out for our first Hammock Adventure last week on Wed.
We hiked out a few miles to Bass Lake in the Hammond Pond Wild Forest.
It was our first time hanging.... overnight ......and it was supposed to get pretty cold.
We're still working some bugs out so we didn't go to far .....for a quick overnighter.

I'm really impressed with all my gear.
    (Especially my TQ.)
Who am I kidding....its ALL super AMAZING.
I don't think Ive been that comfortable in my house before ......let alone in the woods.

    I used....

Mid-Atlantic Mountain Works (custom Marcy) 30 TQ . (Thanks JARED ! seriously the best thing ever.)
    Hammock Gear Phoenix UQ.
    Wilderness Logic's Snipe.
    Warbonnet Super Fly.
Along with tons of other odds and ends from Dutch and elsewhere.

    My Father-in-Law is using....

Clark UL with a 2QZQ pole mod that is really nicely done.
(He couldn't be happier with it really.)
He also got a "Elephant Trunk" for his strap suspension system he put together that I'm really impressed with.
And a 3 Piece Army Bag system and Foam Pad.

We didn't weigh our packs or anything because were still pretty new to hanging so we brought some "Extra stuff" to be safe ....so it was pretty much pointless to worry about it.

It got down to 9 degrees Wednesday night here....... but we both were Super comfortable.

I've actually never been able to sleep continually all night when backpacking .......ever.
    I usually tossed and turned....gotten up....laid back down.... ect....ect.
In the Hammock I closed my eyes around 9:30-10:00 and didn't open them again until 7 the next morning.
That hasn't happened in a Long Long time.

I'm still in aww about it haha.

This is the culmination of a lot of help from forum members and lots of reading and research ......so I'm still pretty proud of ourselves , even though it was only an overnighter .....and I thought I'd share.

Anywho ....here's some pics of both our setups and some beautiful Adirondack scenery.

Also I wanted to give a shout out to 12trysomething for the stoves I got from him......worked as intended...and the coffee was delicious.

Cant wait to get back out .......planning out next multiday trip.
