    Howdy Ustacould here from Texas

Just got on and super excited to read for days.

I'm a middle school administrator in Houston, Texas.

Looking to do 30 solid days on AT this summer. Figure I'll start on the Georgia end and move north.

Wanting to do minimal gear hammock looks like the fit.

I have a couple of questions:

    1) If I have 30 days to hike the AT and it has to be in July where would you start?
    2) Is a hammock the way to go?

    Thanks,

    Ustacould

July in Georgia is sweltering hot. You may want to start farther north, or start up north at Katahdin and come south bound.

    Welcome from Philly.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

Welcome! From Memphis, TX. Former school administrator myself, a 30 day AT hike would definitely fit the bill for summer break :-)

    Take it easy,
