Beautiful! That's an interesting looking stove you've got there, what is that?
    Good luck,

    Thanks Biggles & Redoleary,

The alcohol stove is part of the Evernew DX set, http://www.evernewamerica.com/EBY255.htm

It's a bit of a flame thrower, but if you want to extend burn time just place your pot
on top of the stove only.
This cuts off half the jets & you get a longer burn time. Instead of just over 5mins for 30ml (1oz),
you get 16 mins with the same amount of fuel.
The burner can hold up to 60ml so 30mins burn times are there, if needed.

I have played around with a couple of Trangia simmer rings, cutting & filing them, but
it hasn't provided any decent simmer results for dry baking. So steam baking it is.

Every now & then on a weekend or overnight trip, I like a steamed sticky date pudding
or a steam bread roll & I can get away with these little luxuries with these burn times.

Personally, I like the Evernew burner & cross stand combo + my own home made windscreen
to suit my pot. Air holes punched only a third of the way around the windscreen, leaving 2 thirds to face
into the wind & block it.
Similar to fallkniven's post....just without holes all the way around.

Lighter in weight, flexible cooking times and better at blocking those cool mountain breezes.

    Hope that helps,
