I just got my first set of hooks a few weeks go. Only hung them a couple of times. I will keep an eye on it.

Wonder if these may be from the same batch. Machining equipment out of calibration or an odd batch of titanium may cause the cuts to be less precise. Would explain the fact that some are causing abrasions while others are not. Then again it could just as easily be a bad batch of rope, how it is hung or even sand/dirt in the rope.

I just bought some new whoopie hooks and Dutch now rounds or bevels all edges. The design has also changed a bit.

Old style from two years ago on top, new style on bottom. You can see there is no rounding on the ones I bought two years ago (maybe a little on the hook portion), but the rounding or bevel is pretty obvious on the new ones.

Nice. This raises a good question (that I don't think was directly raised yet?) - how old are the Hooks that are being discussed here?

I've yet to use/install them, but I've a pair of Dutch whoopie hooks that are nice and rounded, as pictured above.

Mine are the newer style, and so are his. I Can see the trim in his picture.

I received an email from Dutch. He is going to make it all better! He also stated that the new machining eliminates the fraying issue.
My old ones were purchased on whoopie slings already, so I couldn't smooth out the edges. When move the cord around with my hand I can hear the fibers tearing.

Just got off the phone with Dutch. Must say awesome service. He offered to replace the hooks but I told him I would fix em up. He is replacing the cord for me. I can't complain a bit on this. Super happy I'll be swinging safely.

I seem to be having a similar problem, but I had a hook cut through a continuous loop after a few hangs ended up on my rear with a bruised ego. I've noticed a bit of an edge that I plan on filing down. Should fix the problemuploadfromtaptalk1398297611445.jpguploadfromtaptalk1398297655711.jpg

New one is on right, old on left. New one seems to have more improved surfaces and is a little more open.
