Just got this Snugpak underquilt for my Jungle Hammock. Could someone please tell me how this attaches to the hammock!? I think I may have to extend the shock cord to fit it? If you have any pictures that would be great.
Thanks

I got the same quilt, I have a few ideas how to attach it, but I'm certainly not sure how to.
the to shorter cords should somehow be attached to the hammock at the ends of the hammock, the longer cords should be attached to the tree or around the tree to thighten the sides of the quilt...
This is just me guessing, I haven't had an opportunity to try this out my self.
So I'm just fumbling in the dark here....
I did a google search and found this:
"First of all you could do with 6 mini karabiners ( you don't need them but it makes job easier). Dealing with one end . Take the 2 inner cords and tie them back on themselves, so halving the length. Then fit one krab through the 2 loops and attach this to the main hammock karabiner. Then fit one outer cord through the loop at the end of blanket and then pass this over the ridgeline and attach to the loop on the other side with another mini krab. Do the same with the cord on the other side.Where these go over the ridgeline it may help to fitt prussic loops on ridgeline to pull them slightly towards the tree.
Don't forget though. The cords are there to support the blanket ONLY not you."
This thread over at Bushcraft UK might be helpful.
Or this one also.

For those that have this underquilt, how do you like it? I've looked at it but never knew how well it worked.

Works fine with my HH. It is just really important to find out how much tension there should be on the shock cords.
Too tight = insulation is being pushed up (compressed) to your body too hard = heat loss.
I had a mate touchting the UQ when I was in my hammock, so he could feel if it was strung too tight and the insulation was being compressed by my weight. Then he adjusted it and put color markings on the shock cords, so I'd know next time where I should attach it to the ridge line and crabs.
For heat insulation it's pretty good. With a down sleeping bag (comfort range around -4 C) and an extra blanket I was comfy at -5C last winter.
Here it is on the trip mentioned:
It's just so **** bulky.....
hey thijzzz
how do you find it works with a hennessey??

read the above but it's obviously designed for a dd hammock and not the entry/exit of a hennessey so i'm wondering how that works?
Get a zipper mod ;-)
But seriously: the shock cords allow for the blanket to be pushed to the side so you can crawl in. Then it partially springs back to it's original position, but you still have to "shove it along" a bit by sticking your hand out through the velcro (ouch).
Also, adjusting a too tight suspension of the blanket is not possible from within the HH if you don't have the zipper mod. One more reason why I had a friend modify my HH.
PS: I see you're fairly new to the site (though maybe you've lurked some time), so here's the mod I mean: http://www.2qzqhammockhanger.com/id2.html
