I am thinking about taking my 10-yr-old son into Sipsey this weekend. Not sure because it will be a 2-hr drive for us and I am not sure how early I can get off of work Friday.
However, if we are able to go, I would like an area where we could walk a mile or two before setting up camp and then have a longer hike the next day, seeing a few waterfalls along the way.
Anyone have any suggestions?
PM squidbilly. Also I may would check with local forestry office to make sure today's storms did not tear through there. Blow downs with the little one would not be much fun. Have fun! Wish I could go!!!
I would say your best bet would be trail 201 from the Randolf TH. Right now all stream crossings will be slick and muddy banks. Sipsey may be too high to ford at end of 201. Maybe do 202 to river. Good camping and a waterfall just before river.
