Can I make soft shackles out of lash-it?

I have a small project in mind and Id like to make soft shackles (or nacrabiners, whatever theyre called) to hang gear from.

Can lash it work for that? and how would i do it?

    Absolutely...several venders: Dutch and Stu (whoopieslings.com) make them. Here's a tutorial: http://l-36.com/soft_shackle_9.php

Oh yeah, if it's not being used as part of a hammock suspension, you can probably get away without using the diamond knot (the hardest part of a soft shackle, in my opinion).

I was never too keen on I-36's tutorials. That guy could complicate oatmeal. While a diamond knot is probably the proper way to make a soft shackle, I prefer Opie's soft shackle - easier to make. I hang from Opie's soft shackles all the time in my office.

To be clear Lash-It/Zing-It isn't suitable for hammock suspension. Like Paulie said, depending on your application you may not need the diamond knot. These are what I use on for my tarp rideline attachments:

OP said hanging gear so I hope he wasn't planning on hanging his hammock with them!

I've used them on my tarp ridge line in a klemheist knot to attach my tarp and as an alternative to Dutch bling.

This is so true. While I do use the l-36 page, I just skip all his explaining and use the calculator and pictures. His explanations are a little over the top and confuse me even today, after I've made around 10 of them.
