Hello from Jefferson, Georgia

I’m a complete newbie to this Hammock craze and feel like I’m fitting right in. I’m scheduled for my first hang this weekend in the North Georgia Mountains with a few friends. We’re going to do a small section of the A.T. I just bought the Hennessy Explorer Deluxe for the trip and took it in the backyard to test it out. Well, needless to say my three kids kicked me out of it and have claimed it for themselves. Now I’ve been forced to begin the process of building my own DIY hammock just to get my Hennessy back. The sewing is going slow and a little crooked but I think I’m getting the “hang” of it. I’ve posted a couple of pictures of the Hennessy with one of my “thieves” inside and the DIY hammock. Let me know what you all think.

Welcome aloft from McCormick, SC. We have a local hang 9-11 May at Leroy's Ferry Campground on J. Strom Thurmond Lake. It would be a great opportunity for you to check out other folks hammock gear, and get some great info from longtime hangers. The campground is awesome, and it is right on the water. We will also have the campground to ourselves which makes it even nicer. I hope you can join us. It may be a bit of a drive, but it will be well worth it.
