    Blackbirds first flight

Got out a couple days ago for a quick test run. About a 2 mile hike it to muddy ol creek.

The area is essentially a small flood plain in the spring. Large "lakes" anywhere from 4 inches to a foot deep. I bushwacked south at first after coming to the end of the trail, chasing a decent spot for a sunset. But couldn't find a nice place so went back to the trail end by the creek. Found a decent little island surrounded by water and 2 perfect trees to set up.

At one point I heard a crack when walking and found a Tupperware container under the leaves... turns out it was a geocache washed out by the spring flooding.. I looked around and assumed it must have come from a near by log that obviously had taken a water beating.. at the other end was another log on top of it making a nice tight place to wedge the container. I signed the cache log too

Had a wee fire. Used my tools. Had some nice coffee and just enjoyed being out.

This definitely cemented my satisfaction with the blackbird.. handing in the house and back yard with fixed attachment points just doesn't work for this bird.. need the trees to maximaze the adjustments.

    Can't wait for my superfly.

Thanks for looking.. now that I know that forum only allows 4 pics per post it won't take 3 weeks and a million tries to post trips.

Glad the BB is working out for you. That is what it looks like here in MN, lots of dead leaves and water EVERYWHERE.

Love the tarpless view! Sometimes I skip it completely overnight if I'm confident in the weather.
