One of my fav places to hang was off a 300' cliff, and I did it comfortably with this system. Until that is when I arrived there one day and noticed one of the trees I used fell over the cliff.
Glad I wasn't there for that.

Nice!!
FWIW - any reason not to larks head to the quick draw then use the biner or a Dutch clip at the tree? Keeps the suspension attached all the time so nothing missing at the next camp... ;-)
YMMV

Free advice worth what you paid for it. ;-)
I converted over to these quick draws over a year ago and love them.
They are very quick to attach, strong and easy to use.. Myself being a heavy guy,it just feels more secure plus i like the camo with black buckle look.,, goes really well with my camo hammock!
I've heard that larksheading amsteel to amsteel can create friction problems and possibly melt the rope. Would the same happen with larksheading between an amsteel continuous loop and the webbing from the quick draw?
I'd love to see a 1" webbing version of the whoopie hook. That would make this ideal.
I use Lock N Loads tied into the ropes of my HHDJ and a Dutch Clip at the tree and get the same effect:
I'll never leave a tree strap behind, and its the only modification that will be done to the Hennessy, preserving its value as its totally non-destructive and can be removed at any time. I trust them so much that my Grandchildren use the same system.
Dang Sarge! IT'S FLAT THERE. Anyhoo. I look at amsteel like I look at extension cords and hoses. Every time I go to use one they are all tangled up. I like webbing because it can be rolled up and stuck in pockets nice and neat.
Dang! It's flat in TX. However I have been to TX probably 10 times and I have a funny story about one visit to Huston if you ever want to hear it.
Well, its certainly flat down here near the coast, "wicked flat" as y'all might say.
I got some funny stories about Houston too. I think the statute of limitations is up on most of 'em.
There's an outside chance I might get up that way for a wedding in August. If I do, I'll stop by the shop and we can palaver for a piece.
