    Sighs....my hiking crew was just up there last week. I couldn't go due to minor knee surgery. They said that the temps got down into the upper 40's at night - sure surprised me!

    I am leaving the 4th for a 5 day paddle with a group of boy scouts, followed by a three to 4 day backpacking solo trip on the north country scenic trail in the Manistee National Forest of Northern Lower Michigan. Time providing leadership, time to be all alone in the woods. Ah, can't wait.
