    Cuben Fabric and supplies pricing

Have put together a spreadsheet from several vendors who sell cuben fabric and related supplies with prices for the DIY crowd.

Most vendors are selling the cuben by the yard but some sell by the 1/2 yard or foot in which case I worked out the by the yard price for comparison.

If I missed any vendors, feel free to add them.

Prices do change so be sure to check the vendors for the latest prices.

    Link to spreadsheet on google..............

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing.

Yama Mt Gear does make a stuff bag kit for $ 30 that includes everything you need to make several cuben stuff sacks. Easy and fun if you wanted to play around with cuben and find out how to work with it before you tackle a big project like a tarp and find out its more than you can handle.

While the Ripstopbytheroll $10 box is a good deal ( I got one ), the included piece of Cuben is a bit small and you still need to get the transfer tape.

The Yama Mt Gear DIY Cuben kit (which I have also gotten) is a a better deal IMO as it includes the fabric, drawstring, cord locks, transfer tape and instructions for up to 7 stuff sacks depending which template you use. Had enough transfer tape left over from Yama to make one stuff sack with the Cuben that came with the Ripstopbytheroll $10 box. I have ordered a yard of Cuben from Ripstop while it is on sale. Still have to order more transfer tape.

I also have to order some transfer tape. Also thinking of some camo cuben fabric to play with to make a cuben double ended stuff sack.

    Appreciate the info.
Thinking about making a rain kilt and this pretty much spells out the cost.

Links to some DIY "working with CF" might be useful as well.

I recently got some samples of the tape that I could throw in gratis. I'm going to start carrying it on the site, just haven't had time to post it yet. Just let me know how much you need.

    Great. PM sent. Thanks

DIY Hint...I find a plain old # 2 pencil is the way to go for marking the fold lines ect on the cuben fabric.

I watched the first video from Yama several times before I started my first stuff sack. Once I got going I could make a stuff sack in under 10 minutes. Found it easier to place the draw cord in the cuben fabric before I folded it over to make the draw string channel. I held the draw cord in place with a fabric clip until I sealed the channel with the transfer tape. You want to cut the transfer tape a little longer than needed for any seams as the excess is very easy to rub off where it is not needed.
