I like the natural and earth tones so when backpacking I don't offend the eyes, but I stay away from camo because it has some very negative connotations depending on where you go; solid neutral colors are a happy medium (but if I go to a park it is nice to see the lurid colors sometimes)

    *RIMSHOT*

I see what you did there.

(I got a digi camo tarp so I could "Hide" my stuff at a base camp..... in busy areas ....if I wanted to go peak bagging/day hiking and not have to carry everything with me.)

I, too, opt for earth colors - especially the darker greens; not much of a brown guy, even though the color works. I've always liked camo well enough but didn't have much desire to have/use it much, unless hunting (rarely).

Recently I chose the digi WB SuperFly over the solid brown...and I'm diggin' the digi.

I ended up getting a camo HG tarp b/c I figured it would be less see through than the other solid color choices. I personally prefer earth tones myself, but do enjoy bright colors in other contexts (than hiking, etc.).
*Formerly "kleinrider"; no longer own any Klein bikes, so figured a change was in order.

For where I camp, I try to avoid camo. It doesn't work close up, and I'd say it attracts people who find it cool. I gravitate towards earth tones because you can blend in far away and up close it looks boring vs a camo tarp or hammock. I'm concerned about uninvited guests when I leave my campsite to get wood, go on a hike, etc, so I don't want to do anyting to attract attention. I camp along a lake primarily, so you'll get lots of kids in daddy's boat tooling around saying "ooo that looks cool, lets go check it out!"

Hate to be a hater (pun intended...lol)...but I absolutely despise camo. In my brain, camo serves a purpose: stealth. I don't want to be stealth, nor do I see the need. But I guess some guys just like it. "Whatever floats your boat" I always say.

This. I'm not a fan of the camo look. I do like by green WBBB, BBO, KAQ Top/Bottom quilts and my brown superfly and UQP
