    Newbie seeking tarp advice/opinions

Totally new here (my first post). Am planning a 4 day, 40 mile backpacking trip, haven't done this in 25 years. I found a great deal on Craigslist for a WBBB and Superfly. I had also been thinking about a cuben fiber tarp. The Superfly has better coverage and great reviews here on HF and a cuben fiber tarp would save me at least 8 ounces. I'm 58 years old and want to be smart about what I carry (not as young or strong as I used to be). So which would you pair with the WBBB - Superfly or cuben fiber tarp? And why?
    thanks in advance!

Does the SF have integrated doors or is it an older model? What is the size of the CF tarp? If the CF tarp is a decent size and if you can afford it then why not save 8 oz. If you want more protection, a SF with doors would be the way to go IMO.

Superfly has the integrated doors. CF definitely less coverage. And now I see I might have posted this in the wrong thread... Rookie mistake. Thanks for the response.

I personally would go with the craigslist deal. Most people on CL can be haggled with for less than their asking price and that set up would be great for you. While I am a weight conscious hiker, I enjoy being comfortable once I am in camp and for me, I'd go with the few extra ounces for a tarp with better coverage. The superfly is certainly one on my list to get sometime. (I just have Walmart tarps and a Kelty Noah 12)

Thanks for the advice. I do like the ease of a system 'made for each other'...
