    Northern lower Michigan near Grayling

A bunch of us Bushcrafter / hangers got together in the piney woods . One of the strangest things Ive ever seen . We put out a couple of crawdad traps and next morning a 24 inch pike worked his way into a 16 inch trap .
Fishing with hand lines , gathering winter green , throwing Tomahawks usual HF stuff .

Lots of artillery going off in the distance , and what sounded like 50s closer .

Beavers take advantage of the bridge abuttments

    Beaver ponds everywhere

Lane sets the crawdad trap in the deep water above the beaver dam

Randyt loads Stains flintlock as Stain looks on . I got to fire it too . Man I got to have one of those .

One of Stains neat places . Big ole pine trail down to the river .

Randy who is a big guy was trying a hammock for the first time . It was a Grand Trunk ultra light and it felt very small to him . I gave him one of my 5 minute hammocks made from a large piece of polyester and toggles to hold the ends and he loved it . Pretty sure he's a died in the wool hanger now .

Nice area Joe! I was just up there this past weekend turkey hunting (a bit west of town). Gotta stop by Spikes for a burger and beer next time you're in Grayling. Not much going on up there, but I love it!
