It's been a long time coming.

Well, I got a late Fathers Day/ early birthday present from my Dad today. A new Hennessey Safari and boy am I excited. I have been wanting a Hennessey for a couple of years now. I have a couple of other hammocks, but nothing that was the full package like this one. According to dear old Dad, they were the friendliest company he has dealt with in a long time, if not ever. That's a pretty good referral.

So I took it out back and strung it between my homemade hammock stand (all welded steel), and unfortunately the stand is a foot or two short. I built the stand to fit another hammock and would just have to pick up some longer tubing to extend out the length. So I didn't get to lie in it yet, but I did check it out strung up, and am really excited.

Looks like I might go for another impromptu camping trip tomorrow night. Did I mention I was excited?

Theres nothing like fatherly love. congrats on your new baby HH.As for the hammock stand, try cutting center support pole and adding an extension to fit and bolt or weld back together.

    Congrats on the Safari.

I've laid in TeeDee's Safari and it is almost as comfortable as his Bridge Hammocks - we're not biased or anything .

But, the Safari is exceedingly comfortable. I like it much better than the ULBA because the netting and ridge line are way up out of the way and the length makes getting way out on the diagonal very easy and comfortable.

I couldn't wait. I took off for an impromptu trip last night. I did manage to get to camp before the sun went down, and got everything set up. The Safari was amazingly comfortable. I had a real blast.

The attention to detail is amazing. I loved the sewn in triangles in the tarp that also had a place to store the tie down. I really liked the ridgeline inside the netting. I was able to hang a small LED lantern. With the extra room, I just got in, slid off my shoes and put them on the side. It was simple to adjust around and slide into the sleeping bag.

Maybe I have just never been in a really nice hammock, but I did have a blast, and slept like a baby. I didn't have to fight with things falling out of the hammock, etc..

    Two thumbs up!
