    4 Season Tarp Shapes

I have 10 yards of silnylon for a 4 season tarp, but would like some help on the design. My sewing skills are good, I've made my own clothing for years, but I am a newbie when it comes to designing/making outdoor gear. Any suggestions on what shapes/styles of 4 season tarps has worked well for you would be greatly appreciated!

Here ya go! You can increase the dimensions a bit since you have an extra yard

Before you finish hemming and adding corners to the doors, I'd string it up and see what you think works... I found that the dimensions were a bit wide (or was it long?) for setting up my winter tarp with my trekking poles, so I had to re-measure, trim and redo the hems and corners.

The plan I'm going to be using is the Sunkmail Modification of the DIY tarp. It's designed to give you a slightly larger vestibule on each end. You can search for the thread if you want to read everything, but here are the patterns for 64" and 59" wide fabric.

+1 on the DIYGearSupply plans. I have build a winter tarp and 2 hex tarps from their plans. If you want to extend the ridgeline just add it to the center section and leave the door cuts as shown.
