    Splicing amsteel pics

Ok peoples here are the pics all went well up until something pounced on me but any way here they are, and they worked great. The reason I thought of these is I saw where people were putting colored beads on theirs to tell the head from the foot of there hammocks, so this was born. My wife which is a pro at sewing put in a couple lock stitches in the green/gray one just to see if it made a difference, none that I could tell. Thanks for all the support. image.jpgimage.jpg

The splicing looks good. The splicing adds length to the whoopie so the downside to have a longer distance from the adjustable bury to the fixed eye is you limit your minimum suspension length. This limits your minimum tree distance which in turn can possibly make it more challenging to find hanging spots. Doing what you did to both whoopies adds 3 feet of suspension length (looks like 18" per sling) Just something to consider.

It only adds 9 inches per sling, but I see what you are saying though. Thanks for the input just some thing I thought of.

Its a good idea and its fun to experiment with amsteel. What's the total length from the fixed eye to the exit of the adjustable bury? I figured 18" because it looks like you have 3 six inch burries plus some extra non burried length leading up to the adjustable bury.
